Since September 2013, in the premises of the Business Academy in Považská Bystrica, Jesenského street 259/6, a branch of the University of the Third Age of the University of Žilina has been established.

Ceremonial opening of the branch in the presence of the Vice-Rector for Education of the University of Žilina doc. Ing. Milan Trunkvalter, PhD.; Mayor of Považská Bystrica doc. PhDr. PaedDr. Karol Janas, PhD.; the Director of the Institute of Lifelong Learning Ing. Lucia Hrebeňárová, PhD. and the Director of the Business Academy in Považská Bystrica Ing. Petr Bologa took place in the premises of the Business Academy on 27 September 2013.

Since the academic year 2020/2021, we have established cooperation with the Leisure Center Považská Bystrica.

Teaching in the Považská Bystrica branch has been carried out since its establishment until now, thanks to the financial support of the town of Považská Bystrica.

In order to bring the process of education as close as possible to the target group of seniors, the University of the Third Age of the University of Žilina has been implementing the teaching process in the town of Čadca since October 2017. Thanks to the cooperation with the Municipal Police in Čadca and the town of Čadca, the lectures are held in the premises of the town hall of Čadca, at Square Slobody 30. The teaching is realized thanks to the financial support of the town of Čadca.
