The goal of the Section of Foreign Languages is to conduct research in the fields of linguistics, translatology, methodology, and didactics of foreign language teaching in the conditions of the University of Žilina, as well as to create and solve projects enabling the implementation of researched phenomena in further education and university teaching, as well as and for own foreign language teaching. The main activities of this Section are the provision of university teaching of foreign languages at all faculties of the University of Žilina. Partial steps lead to the improvement of the whole process, an increase in interest in these educational activities among university students, as well as the stimulation of the interest of university employees to teach in foreign languages. Educational, scientific research, and publishing activities require the close and active cooperation of the Institute with individual faculties of the University of Žilina. The main languages taught are English, German, Russian, and French.
