Why German?
Goethe Institut
is a cultural institution of the Federal Republic of Germany operating worldwide. Its aim is to promote the teaching of the German language abroad.
Through a network of Goethe Institutes, Goethe Centres, cultural societies, and German study centres, as well as licensed schools and centres for German language teaching, it fulfils important tasks in foreign cultural and education policy. The Goethe Institute is a partner with both public and private cultural and educational institutions.
In 2017, the University of Žilina, through the initiative of the Institute of Lifelong Learning, also became a partner of the Goethe Institute and offers the Goethe Zertifikat A2 B1 B2, an international certification exam in the German language.
In the German-speaking part of Europe, but especially in the European area, Goethe Institute certificates are a desirable and convincing proof of language competence. Studying at German universities requires knowledge of German confirmed by the Goethe Zertifikat C1, employers in German-speaking countries require knowledge confirmed by the Goethe Zertifikat B1 to B2.
The Goethe Institute exams in general German allow you to obtain an internationally valid certificate with unlimited duration certifying language proficiency at the level defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1 - C2).

The Goethe-Zertifikat A2 is a German exam for young people and adults.
It assumes elementary knowledge of the language. It corresponds to the second level (A2) of the 6-level competence scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Certificates from the Goethe Institute are highly valued all over the world and are recognized as proof of qualification by employers and educational institutions in many countries.

The Goethe-Zertifikat A2 exam consists of the following parts: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The exam is conducted and evaluated uniformly around the world.
Prerequisites:
The recommended age for the Goethe-Zertifikat A2 for youth (Fit in Deutsch) is 12–16 years, and for adults, 16 years and older.
Regardless of previous knowledge and prerequisites, 200 to 350 45-minute lessons are required to achieve A2 level.
GOETHE-ZERTIFIKAT B1

The Goethe-Zertifikat B1 is a German exam for youth and adults.
It corresponds to the level of language proficiency at level 3 (B1) of the 6-level competence scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It confirms the independent use of German at a moderately advanced level.
Certificates from the Goethe Institute are highly valued all over the world and recognised as proof of qualification by employers and educational institutions in many countries.

It corresponds to the language proficiency at level 4 (B2) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the 6-level competence scale. It confirms independent use of German at an intermediate level.
Certificates from the Goethe Institute are highly valued all over the world and are recognized as proof of qualification by employers and educational institutions in many countries.
