The curriculum of further education for students of doctoral degree study programmes (hereinafter referred to as doctoral students) is based on the legislative framework, where according to the Act on Higher Education 131/2002 Coll., § 54, par. 11, part of the doctoral study in the full-time form includes the implementation of pedagogical activities. The doctoral student also acts as a teacher in the process of university education, as he/she is obliged to participate in the pedagogical process by conducting exercises and selected lectures. The education is compatible with the qualification profile of university teachers of technical subjects IGIP, however, in the presented scope, it allows to provide only background knowledge, appropriate to the needs of the doctoral student.

The educational programme integrates several scientific disciplines, interweaving through four phases of a doctoral student's pedagogical activity: planning of teaching, preparation for teaching, implementation, and evaluation of teaching.

Target group:

• preferably 1st year doctoral students of doctoral degree study at UNIZA

Goals of further education of doctoral students:
Upon completion of the education, graduates will be able to:

• effectively apply current basic knowledge of pedagogical disciplines in the education of university students,
• apply selected activating strategies of higher education,
• apply various strategies for evaluation of learning outcomes,
• reflect on current approaches in teaching and re-evaluate them in the context of their further professional development.

Scope of education:

• 20 lessons include face-to-face teaching (or online teaching)
• 4 individual lessons dedicated to individual mentoring

• according to the agreement with registered doctoral students, face-to-face and online

EDUCATION COSTS
All education costs are covered by the budget of the University of Žilina
